Edward J. McClain, III, MD

It was Dr. McClain’s father who started Three Rivers Orthopedic Associates so it is not surprising he turned down other job offers to continue the family tradition.

“There was no other choice,” said Dr. McClain. “It’s the impact that we can make through orthopaedic surgery, improving the quality of life and taking the pain away.”

Before joining the practice, Dr. McClain completed his undergraduate studies at Allegheny College and attended medical school at West Virginia University. He went on to complete his residency through the University of Pittsburgh and his fellowship through Indiana University. He gained a sub-specialty in adult reconstructive surgery, which includes total hip, knee and shoulder replacements.

Dr. McClain is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In addition to over 20 years of experience successfully completing minimally-invasive hip and knee surgeries, he has performed many arthroscopic surgeries. Dr. McClain has been widely published and has been invited to speak at various medical conferences. He also regularly offers specialized lectures for the community and other medical professionals, but says his true passion is in private practice.
