Dr. Formaini joined Three Rivers Orthopedics after practicing for several years in his hometown of Kittanning, PA. He has a special interest in shoulder and elbow surgery, having completed a surgical fellowship focusing solely on complex shoulder and elbow problems. His diagnostic skills and surgical expertise in this area include anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacement, arthroscopic shoulder and elbow procedures, as well as upper extremity fracture management. Dr. Formaini also treats other sports-related injuries and general orthopedic issues throughout the body.

Dr. Formaini is a member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and has been very active in orthopedic research, authoring multiple journal publications and textbook chapters. He lectures at various orthopedic meetings and serves as a reviewer for research-based orthopedic journals.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children as well as hunting, fishing, and biking in the great outdoors.
